Hi, blessings and Peace to you.
I am a 45 year old woman, mom, friend, advocate and artist. I grew up in the Northwest and
now live in Colorado Springs, CO.
I am not a certified "art therapist, " nor would I seek to be. My undergraduate schooling ws in philosophy,
religious studies and leadership (Western Oregon State and Gonzage University) . My graduate work was in psychology
and counseling at Antioch University, Seattle. I have had extensive training in truamatic learning and issues, and various
modalities of healing - including "traditional" Art Therapy. My work experience includes retreat creation and facilitation,
teaching, group counseling and facilitation, advocacy for women, and volunteerism. I've been a mom for twenty
years (3 children).
I have always been an artist and sold and showed while back in Oregon, but am just now focusing
this new small business on my own art, and healing art opportunities for others. I am a survivor of trauma and
have been fiercely doing my own healing work for at least 15 years. Art and opportunities like those I now offer have
played an integal role in my becoming a more whole and happy person.
I enjoy my kids, almost anything outside, composing and making music, reading prolifically
and writing, diverse art forms and opportunities, wierd people, good conversation, great coffee, animals, and the Ocean. I
tend to question everything and speak my mind. I believe in grace and spirit, and look for where I can see it
happening and follow. I think the most powerful force we know is, in fact, Love -- an energy of Transformation and Truth.
I think one person makes all the difference, and the most important global work I can do is to constantly be working
on myself.
I was brought up catholic, was associated with Franciscan Sisters for four years, and
have traversed since then through paganism and shamanism, and alot of other "stuff." My spiritual beliefs and practices
are eclectic and inclusive. I believe everyone and everything has a little bit of the truth, always. All people and all of
life are EQUAL, and judgement is not my job. I am goddess oriented and mother earth loving.
I believe deeply that everything we can imagine is possible, and gratitude is the most honest
approach towards other people and the universe.
The bumpersticker on my electric skooter says: Tree Hugging
Mud Worshipper. That's about right.
